Good local church, solidly Bible-based and welcomes anybody.

I visited the West County branch. If you go, you go to hear the pastor preach over a video feed from an earlier recording. What's the point in going? I can stay home and watch someone on TV or over the Internet in my pj's; It is just as interesting and just as engaging.

The Journey has strengths but it no longer feels like the right church for us. We believe in the Journey's commitment to its motto; however, we feel the current practice of using video sermons creates a sense of disconnect. We want a church with live sermons, rather than a rotating set of pastors from multiple locations, most of whom we've never personally met.

Everyone coming that Sunday morning was wrapped up in there own little world. No eye contact. No hi's. No interest in a stranger visiting. When leaving, I hear some irritated church member cussing and using profanity in as she left the building. I didn't think that was a good sign of what the church maybe like.

The church is part of the Southern Baptist Convention. If you ask the church members they are quick to say "interdenominational" but that is not 100% true.

Their mission statement says it all: Love God, connect people and transform the world. Combination of live preaching and sermons by video (usually from live teaching at the Tower Grove church location).

The Journey's strengths are in its congregation, who are true, enthusiastic believers. It is a fantastic church if you don't mind video sermons. My husband and I still love the church and its' people.
